Hunters are reminded that Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 by 7 p.m. (MST), is the deadline that applications for the draw for Arizona’s 2013 elk and pronghorn antelope hunts can be received by the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
Applications can be submitted online at https://az.gov/app/huntdraw/home.xhtml (scroll down to the “Apply for a Draw” button). Paper applications should be hand-delivered to any of the seven Arizona Game and Fish Department offices in Phoenix, Mesa, Tucson, Pinetop, Flagstaff, Kingman and Yuma. Keep in mind that although hand-delivered applications will be accepted at department office locations until the 7 p.m. deadline, customer front counters close at 5 p.m.
For those who typically mail their paper applications, remember that postmarks don’t count. If you haven’t mailed your application by now, you should use the online service or hand-deliver it to be sure it is received by the Feb. 12, 2013 deadline of 7 p.m.
Don’t wait until the last minute to apply online, just in case technical issues with the system occur. The department has taken steps to ensure the online system works properly, but unforeseen problems are always a possibility. Don’t delay – apply online well in advance to be sure your application is processed by the deadline.
A 2013 hunting license is required to apply in the draw. If you haven’t already purchased your license, you can do so through the draw application process. Please keep in mind that if you are purchasing your license online, you must have a working printer available for you to print out the hard copy of your own license at the time of purchase. The department does not mail out licenses that are purchased online. Licenses can also be purchased at Game and Fish offices and at hunting/fishing license dealers throughout the state.
Copies of the 2013 Pronghorn Antelope and Elk Hunt Draw Information Booklet are available at Game and Fish offices and at hunting license dealers throughout the state. The booklet is also available online at www.azgfd.gov/draw.
