Important information about hunting Maine with crossbow

Crossbow hunting opportunities have increased this year, but please read the following before you head into the woods:

Please ensure you are following the crossbow laws specific to your age category or permit type:

Hunt deer, moose, and bear with a crossbow during the applicable firearms seasons, hunt turkey in both the spring and fall turkey seasons with a crossbow and hunt deer during the regular October archery season on deer.
Take an antlerless deer by use of crossbow during the regular October archery season on deer if that person has an antlerless deer permit via the antlerless deer permit lottery.
