Cedar Point Wildlife Management Area Waterfowl Hunting

The 1,926-acre Cedar Point Wildlife Management Area (WMA) will open for Waterfowl Hunting beginning Tuesday, December 15, 2009. DNR’s Wildlife and Heritage Service staff has established six waterfowl blind site locations on the Potomac River shoreline portion of the property. Additional waterfowl hunting opportunities will be established on the property in the future.

“This new Charles County Wildlife Management Area provides great waterfowl hunting opportunities for Maryland sportsmen and women,” said Southern Region Habitat Manager Jim Bennett.

Waterfowl hunting on Cedar Point WMA will be permitted at designated blind sites only and will be managed through the free permit and reservation system at our Myrtle Grove Wildlife office. For information on the permit and reservation system you can contact the Myrtle Grove office at 301-743-5161 between 8:00 and 12:00 Monday through Friday.

Additional information about the Cedar Point WMA and a map showing the locations of the waterfowl hunting blind sites is available online at http://www.dnr.state.md.us/wildlife/wmasouthern.asp.
