Deadline for 2011 Turkey Cooperator Patch Design

The Department of Natural Resources, Michigan State University and the Michigan Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation remind youths that the deadline for entering the 2011 Wild Turkey Cooperator Patch design contest is Jan. 9.

The design for the patch, which is available to turkey hunters, is chosen from submissions from youngsters in four grade groups – K-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12.

First, second and third place winners will receive cash prizes, ranging from $25 to $100, with the winning design reproduced as the official Wild Turkey Cooperator Patch.

The MSU Museum, on West Circle Dive next to Beaumont Tower, currently features an exhibit that includes the history of the Michigan’s turkey patch program. The exhibit runs through Jan. 15.
