Department of Natural Resources parks and recreation officials have determined that improving conditions at Mitchell State Park will allow the park to reopen its campground for camping this weekend.

As a result of the heavy rain and flooding in the west central part of Michigan overnight, only Ludington State Park will remain closed temporarily.

All other Michigan State Parks and Recreation Areas are open. In parks where a few flooded campsites may exist, local park managers and supervisors will be able to move campers to another site.
