Youth interested in the outdoors can test their knowledge, demonstrate their skills and win various prizes at the state’s second annual Hunter Education Skills Challenge on Jan. 16 in Walton County. This is the second statewide event for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division’s Hunter Education Skills Challenge program. The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sat., Jan. 16 at the division’s dove field in Walton County, just adjacent to the Wildlife Resources Conservation Center, located at 2065 U.S. Highway 278, SE in Social Circle. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources today announced that Fort Custer Recreation Area will be hosting the annual M.U.S.H. Sled Dog Races on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 9 and 10. The races are sponsored by the Mid-Union Sled Haulers (M.U.S.H.).
