Lottery applications are now available for the adventure of a lifetime - hunting moose in New Hampshire. The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department's 2010 moose hunt lottery is open! The nonrefundable application fee is $15 for New Hampshire residents and $25 for nonresidents. New Hampshire's moose hunt is nine days long, starting the third Saturday in October. This year's hunt runs from October 16-24, 2010. The overall odds of being selected in last year's lottery were 1 in 22 for New Hampshire residents and 1 in 63 for nonresidents, some of the best odds in the nation for moose hunting. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has extended its executive order that temporarily suspends certain saltwater fishing regulations to allow people and local communities to legally dispose of dead fish found in the water and on the shore. This order initially was issued on Jan. 15 in response to numerous reports of dead saltwater fish killed by the recent extended cold-weather period in Florida. The order was set to expire on Feb. 1. However, the FWC decided to extend this order through Feb. 28, because the agency continues to receive reports of dead saltwater fish in many areas around the state. The order removes specific harvest regulations for all dead saltwater fish of any species that have died as a result of prolonged exposure to cold weather in Florida ... Wednesday, Feb. 3, is the deadline to apply for New Mexico 2010-2011 oryx licenses, bear Wildlife Management Area permits, population reduction hunts and special spring turkey permits. Online applications must be made before 5 p.m. Mountain Time on the deadline day. Paper applications must be delivered or postmarked on or before the deadline day. To be eligible for the drawing, all hunters must obtain a Customer ID Number -- online at www.wildlife.state.nm.us or by visiting a Department office in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Raton, Las Cruces or Roswell. Extra large incentive trout were delivered to all 21 of the Urban Fishing Program lakes on January 12. The special loads of bigger fish, and more fish, captured the attention of anglers and other park visitors, and sent them scrambling for their cameras, cell phones and fishing poles. Future trout stockings will include some 2-5 pounders, but will mostly have 11-12 inchers -- still a nice fish anywhere in Arizona. 2009 URBAN FISHING BIG FISH RECORD WINNERS ANNOUNCED Topping the list of 2009 Urban Program Big Fish-of-the-Year official winners was a 26.9 pound channel catfish caught and kept by Tuy Sayasavanh from Green Valley Lake in Payson.
