Michigan Commercial Hunting Guide Regulations

Commercial hunting guide regulations on state land and Commercial Forest Act-enrolled land will be the topic of an informational meeting hosted by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment scheduled for Thursday, July 29, at the Charlton Township Hall, located at the corner of Rowan and M-32 in Johannesburg. The meeting will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Staff from the DNRE’s Forest Management and Law Enforcement divisions will be present to discuss current regulations that prohibit commercial guiding and commercial baiting on CFA-enrolled lands. NC Wildlife Staff Receives NRA RSO Training

Staff from NRA’s Training Department traveled to Crossnore, N.C., at the end of June to conduct NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) and Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO) training for 28 wildlife enforcement officers and hunter education specialists from the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC). The training, held June 22-24 at the North Carolina Division of Forest Resources’ B.H. Corpening Training Facility, was arranged by Travis Casper, NCWRC assistant hunter safety coordinator, at the suggestion of Morris Aguilar, program coordinator in NRA’s Hunter Services Department. Casper also serves as director of the wildlife identification event at NRA’s International Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC), which will take place July 26-30 in Mansfield, Pa. Read more..

Bobberthon Tournament Lures Anglers

NRA Hosts Successful 2010 Youth Education Summit

The National Rifle Association hosted 45 outstanding high school students July 12-18 at its annual Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.). The summit encourages young adults to become active and knowledgeable U.S. citizens by learning about the Constitution and the federal government. During the week’s activities, students visited DC’s memorials and monuments and toured the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, the National Archives, the NRA National Firearms Museum, and the Marine Corps Museum. “We’ve learned a lot about the Second Amendment and the programs of the NRA,” said 2010 Y.E.S. participant Julia Parker from New Hampshire. “It’s been a wonderful experience getting to know other students who share my passion for freedom.” Read more..
