It’s almost go time! Nebraska’s nine-day firearm deer season starts this Saturday (Nov. 13 through the 21st), and you will want to be part of it.
If you haven’t purchased a permit, some over-the-counter firearm unit permits remain available, as are season choice permits and $8 permits for youth. Looking for a place to hunt? Consult our Public Access Atlas, available online or in print wherever permits are sold.
As you plan your hunt, here are a few things to keep in mind:
All deer hunters must wear hunter orange while hunting during the nine-day firearm deer season.
Brush up on bag limits, regulations and more with the Big Game Guide.
Harvested deer must be checked-in no later than 1 p.m. on the day after the close of the firearm deer season. Telecheck is not allowed during the firearm deer season.
Find a check station near you on our website, or via the interactive map.
Join the thousands of hunters who plan to make memories and take home fresh venison in the coming week — and enjoy Nebraska’s great deer hunting tradition.
