Registration Opens for Montana Trapper Education Course on May 5

Kalispell, MT — Registration is open for a free trapper education course in Kalispell.

The workshop is scheduled for Saturday, May 5 at Pine Grove Pond. Montana Fur Harvesters and Montana Trappers Association, in conjunction with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, are hosting the general education class. The class is free and not required but is strongly recommended. The workshop is not a wolf trapper certification class, which is required for all prospective wolf trappers.

Instructors from Montana Fur Harvesters and Montana Trappers Association will emphasize trapping ethics, regulations, trapping heritage, and trap sets. Instructors will show actual trap sets and techniques with special attention to avoiding non-target species.

To register, stop by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks’ office on North Meridian Road in Kalispell and pick up pre-course materials.

What: Trapper Education Course

When: 9 a.m., Saturday, May 5

Where: Pine Grove Pond Fishing Access Site, 135 W. Reserve Drive, Kalispell. From West Reserve, turn north on Whitefish Stage Road. Turn east on Rose Crossing then turn south at Fishing Access sign.
