FRANKFORT, Ky. — Sample the best of Kentucky’s food and drink at the Salato Sampler in Frankfort from 6 to 9 p.m. (Eastern) Saturday, June 2.
Guests can enjoy locally produced food, including smoked pork, fried catfish and blue snapper (Asian carp), while sampling the world’s finest bourbons, local wines and beers. The event, held annually at the Salato Wildlife Education Center in Frankfort, will also feature live bluegrass music.
The Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Foundation partners with Kentucky Proud to present this event. Proceeds benefit the Salato Center.
In addition to exceptional food and drink, East of Nowhere Bluegrass Band will provide entertainment throughout the evening. Outdoor exhibits will be open for guest viewing while the Salato staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about the center’s wildlife. Ongoing silent, live and online auctions will help raise additional funds for the center.
Tickets for the Salato Sampler may be purchased for $75 a person by calling (502) 229-7578, online at www.kentuckywildlife.com, or at the door. Event attendees must be 21 years in age or older.
The Salato Center will close at 2 p.m. June 2 in preparation for the event. Doors will reopen for the sampler at 6 p.m.
The center is located off U.S. 60, approximately 1½ miles west of the U.S. 127 intersection. Look for the bronze deer statue at the entrance of the main Kentucky Fish and Wildlife campus.
