The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) has an exciting opportunity for you to bring your education, experience and knowledge to Utah’s Upland Game Program. As the upland game coordinator, you will plan, coordinate and evaluate statewide and regional upland game management and research programs for the DWR. The coordinator evaluates program effectiveness, designs and coordinates technical research, and creates and implements rules and policies. The coordinator also acts as liaison and intermediary for the DWR in matters pertaining to upland game issues.
As an upland game coordinator, you will:
Develop, direct and evaluate species and habitat programs.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, rules, standards and guidelines.
Coordinate and act as a liaison between the DWR and other agencies, work units and organizations.
Write and draft correspondence, reports, documents and other written materials.
Identify problems or potential problem areas and recommend solutions.
Prepare and defend budget recommendations, requests, reports, proposals and projections.
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
A bachelor’s degree in wildlife science or a related field of study.
Knowledge of principles, theories and practices of wildlife science and management.
An understanding of agency objectives, organization, structure and mission.
Excellent teamwork attitude — willing to assist co-workers as needed.
Great oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs.
