Archery Workshop Offered at Spring Valley Wildlife Area

SPRING VALLEY, Ohio – Outdoor enthusiasts of all ages interested in learning more about basic archery skills are encouraged to attend a free workshop at the Spring Valley Wildlife Area shooting range on Saturday, Nov. 20, from 2:00-5:00 p.m., according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.

Instructors will cover topics including proper stance, archery techniques, and target practice. While this workshop is free for all, participants ages 7 and up are encouraged. This class will cover the basics of shooting with a Genesis bow and does not cover bowhunting. All equipment is provided, including both right-handed and left-handed bows. Participants are asked not to bring personal equipment.

The workshop is free of charge. Pre-registration is required; no walk-ins are permitted. Register online by Friday, Nov. 19 through the Wild Ohio Harvest Community page at wildohio.gov.

The workshop will be held at the Spring Valley Shooting Range and Education Center, located at 3570 Houston Rd., Waynesville, OH 45068. Both indoor and outdoor archery ranges are available, weather permitting. Please dress accordingly. Recommended items to bring include weather-appropriate clothing, sunglasses, and a hat.
