Saltwater Commercial License Sales Begin Sept. 18
All current Alabama commercial resident and non-resident saltwater licenses will expire September 30, 2017. The Alabama Marine Resources Division (AMRD) will begin selling 2018 commercial fishing licenses Monday, September 18, 2017.
These licenses include:
Commercial Gillnet and Endorsements–must be an eligible fishermen and
present required approval documents
Commercial Shrimp
Live Bait Dealer
Commercial Crab
Seafood Dealer
Commercial Oyster and Dredge
Commercial Fishing
Commercial Party Boat
Commercial licenses are only available at AMRD offices Monday through Friday, except state and federal holidays, 8:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.

Current license holders may use their 2017 license until October 15, 2017.
New for 2018: Waterproof License Cards
AMRD is offering an optional waterproof commercial privileges card in addition to the paper license you will receive. The card is available for an additional $2 and may be carried in lieu of the paper license. All commercial licenses may be listed on one card. The exceptions are Live Bait, Commercial Party Boat and Commercial Shrimp licenses as they go to the boats and not the individuals. Those cards must be purchased separately for each vessel. If licenses are purchased on separate occasions, you may turn in the previous card for a card with all the privileges listed, but you will be charged $2 for the new card.
