Job Description:
If you’re an office management professional who loves the outdoors and wildlife, this might be your dream job! Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is looking for a capable, detail-oriented individual — someone with expert organization and communication skills — to fill the role of Administrative Assistant in our Salt Lake office. You would work closely with the DWR Director, Assistant Directors and other staff assigned to the Director’s Office. You would be expected to help ensure that the Director’s Office staff have the support they need to efficiently and effectively carry out their responsibilities.
Principal Duties:
As an Administrative Assistant, you will:
Provide administrative support to the DWR Director, Assistant Directors and other staff assigned to the Director’s Office
Manage the Director’s schedule and handle travel arrangements
Schedule appointments and coordinate logistics for meetings
Prepare correspondence, summary reports and other written materials
Manage the application process and records associated with the agency’s Leadership Development and Education Assistance programs
Ensure the Director’s Office staff have the supplies and equipment they need to carry out their responsibilities efficiently and effectively, this includes managing inventory and maintenance
Serve on various committees and task force groups to help coordinate activities that support the agency’s strategic plan
Capture accurate minutes and motion summaries of Wildlife Board meeting
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have:
Demonstrated successful work experience in an administrative support position
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and Google Suite software products
Practical experience balancing workloads that require considerable organization, prioritization and preparedness
Demonstrated abilities to work as part of a team and collaborate with diverse people
The ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
The ability to find creative, pragmatic ways to solve problems and improve processes
