Job Description:
Are you a highly skilled and motivated individual who would like to join our team and assist with regional depredation, nuisance and predator programs in the DWR central Regional Office? The Wildlife Technician II coordinates and works closely with private landowners to resolve depredation problems in Utah and Salt Lake counties. This position will also work directly to solve wildlife nuisance problems within central Utah, specifically in Utah, Salt Lake, Tooele, Wasatch, Summit, and Sanpete counties.

Principle Duties:

As a wildlife technician, you will:
Respond to wildlife damage (depredation) and nuisance complaints, determine necessary actions, perform damage appraisals and implement control measures.
Resolve nuisance wildlife problems (cougar, bear, moose, etc.)
Assist with implementing urban deer program in municipalities within Central Utah.
Assist district biologists as needed.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has:
Knowledge of outdoor recreation, including trailer pulling, hiking, ATV, and hunting and camping skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Ability to apply critical thinking to resolve a variety of nuisance wildlife situations.
Full-time, job related experience in the wildlife management field.
Experience working with private landowners to resolve/mitigate big game depredation problems.
